- I completely agree with you. With how much content they have added to the game in the past few years, I find it rather shocking that more aspirations have not been added.
- Yes. I would go so far as to say EVERY new GP and EP should include at least one aspiration, regardless of if it can fit the theme of the pack or no.
Both Sims 2 and Sims 3 had loads more aspirations and this kept Sims diverse. Sims 4 has a rather finite amount of goals and it quickly makes things repetitive. At the very least, they should strive to constantly improve on the amount of aspirations in order to make things more diverse.8 - Yes. Yep! We should be getting at least one with each release. Maybe not with Stuff Packs, but with everything else. I kind of suspect Pets will add one to do with raising pets or something, but I need something more than that. Something with a broader focus - Yeah, I'm with you on that. Even though I only managed to finish one aspiration yet (the bodybuilder one), I always catch myself using the same aspirations when creating sims over and over again. How many new aspirations did we get through packs? The only ones I can think of right now are 1 in Get Together, 1 in City Living, 1 in Parenthood and 3 in Vampires. Are there more that I've forgotten?
I found a work-around with custom aspirations from Mod The Sims, but it's really annoying when they aren't translated to my language, so I just download the ones that are. The two custom aspirations I have are 'UFO Investigator' and 'Perfectly Balanced' (a wellness aspiration). I didn't try them out yet because I wait for the right sim, but from what I've read about them, they seem to be much fun and a nice alternative to the vanilla aspirations .2 - Yeah, I'm with you on that. And as far as I can recall that is it for new aspirations, but it would be nice to see ones that weren't so pack-specific too. @Huiiie_07 , I don't use Mods, but I have to say that aspirations of 'UFO Investigator' and 'Perfectly Balanced' would have been excellent ones to include! Too bad EA didn't make these aspirations! Similar to UFO Investigator could be an aspiration that I thought of where the goal would be to be a 'Friend of all Supernaturals' (right now just Ghost, Alien, and Vampire, but could expand if they add more Supernaturals to our game!)1 - [quote='DeservedCriticism;c-15913306']Yes. Exactly and the lifetime aspirations were always very different, and very challenging too. It is supposed to take that Sim's lifetime to complete after all. I find I can sail through the S4 lifetime aspirations far too quickly. And then there's not much reward at the end. With S2 we got that aspiration meter and it was permanently filled once you finished the aspiration wasn't it? Definitely feeling the absence of the aspiration meter in S4, and the wants just aren't as good/interesting/essential to the gameplay. Also miss the objects you could unlock instead of potions or personality enhancements. - Yeah, I'm with you on that. modthesims.info/browse.php?tag=aspiration&go=Go&gs=4&f=38 Here's a good bunch of custom aspirations, including the two I've mentioned. There are also remakes from TS2 aspirations. @Lomelindi7
@PugLove888 I know, these aspirations seem so fitting for the packs. Your idea with the supernatural aspiration would indeed be cool, I wish I knew how to make these custom aspirations, but I already struggle with creating custom traits, so I'll wait with that a little longer2 - edited July 2017I completely agree with you. it does seem odd and I would like more as wellthe sims 4 isn't getting new whims right now and I think they have dropped them all together if we want new whims in sims 4 we need to tweet the gurus and tell them we like whims - I am very surprised that more basic aspirations and traits have not been added in patches. I would have thought it would be a pretty straight forward job to do - easy way to please people. I'd much rather them do that then add these bizarre random events like special bar nights or random outfit switching.
Mind, their treatment of traits of aspirations seem a bit bizarre to me. Traits don't really do much other than pop a whim up and provide a random moodlet now and then - why aren't traits linked to object attraction?
Aspirations are completely ignored in interactions with other sims which seems very odd. Makes much more sense to me to have clubs based on aspirations rather than traits. Also, we can reveal traits by Get to Know and careers by Ask about career, but no interaction for aspirations, odd.
I suspect the latter is to do with the fact that a sim can have more than one aspiration, but add a list like they do clubs and traits would solve that.
And as for switching aspirations - SMH. Well another topic, I guess.Awake.
Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity..
The Ghost Song - Jim Morrison - I don't think there's not enough. S2 only had 5 until they added the Pleasure Seeker (equalling 6 all together). The thing with 2 was that there were several ways to complete those aspirations.
The problem with 4 is the linear tasks and goals that never change. They become repetitive and boring after a while, and the hidden trait is hardly worth the effort.Dissatisfied with Sims 4 and hoping for a better Sims 5 - Yes. TS2 had like a few: 5 in the base game, and two more in an expansion pack. I don't think the lack of aspirations is the problem. Lack of goals - is! I think Aspiration should be tied to whimps rather to the goals. Than again, whimps are unispring and repetitive as well. - The user and all related content has been deleted.

That's a good point too. I still would like more variety, but as you said there is more to the problem than that. - I want more aspirations also. I have the modded in one Perfectly Balanced . haven't finished it yet and will have to look into UFO Investigator now for another one to do. I think they dropped the ball when Spa Day came out I was very disappointed that it didn't come with an aspiration at that time. I keep hoping for one whenever they bring a new pack out at this point. I do enjoy the aspirations still. stacking up reward points and buying the traits I want for my sim. I really enjoy the ability to switch aspirations without losing progress also. I like to be able to do them at my leisure .. or even grinding them done when it suits me as the player to do so. I just want more. Some of them I don't really like doing . the ones linked to computer careers in particular. So I just won't do them because I find that career path unappealing. They work okay on bigger households though where I really don't want to play one sim too much so I set them up on a computer in all their spare time basically.. while I enjoy playing the other adult more.
I do like the aspirations this time around much more than the way it was done in 2 since it has been brought up. I guess mostly I didn't enjoy the want and fear system and how it was linked to the aspiration failure. I had to use mods to get more slots and locks rather than be forced to do those things that popped up on a daily basis. The game was basically a race to keep my sims in the gold or up otherwise for me. At least that's the way I had to play to enjoy it at that time. I might view it differently if I played it now. I did get mods for Sims 2 or used many cheats and was happy with the game at that point. I don't need to do those things to enjoy the system that is in place in Sims 4. So. I guess it has to do with play style and perspective. I just want more aspirations to be able to switch between or focus on in Sims 4 at this point.0 - Agreed. The number of traits is very lacking, especially compared to Sims 3. And most of the aspirations don't really interest me, to be honest. There were SO MANY in Sims 3 I never even got to half of them!
- I wish the Body Builder Aspiration Varied, because yeah, everyone is trying to get the same buff body type, they should make it so that the player can decide what kind of body they desire. So maybe a Beauty/Dream body aspiration.
Expand Creativity Aspiration
in the long run I hope to see:
Painter, Photographer, Sketch Artist
Music, Choreography, Singing
Writer
What I like about Deviance, Family, and Fortune Aspirations you can shape what kind of a family, Sociopath, and Dream home, your own way.
Build a Wolf Pack could come with Werewolves
Knowledge, Still Has room to grow.
Like Vampires, I would imagine other Life States getting Aspirations to discover powers.
University could bring in more.
Love Aspiration
Right now, focuses on Love and Lust, but is that all?
Location Aspiration,
City Native.. I think would be more fun if there were multiple Cities. then you can try finding which is the right city for you.
and then adding more various locations which may take time.
and then for children and Teens, even young adults.
when I was young, my main aspirations were just Graduate/Survive High School, get accepted to college.
I'm surprised there are no career aspirations. All I need in the Sims is Magic, Seasons, Survival, Adventure
This is Magic: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/771995/the-sims-4-magic-is-coming-updated/p1 - I wish there was a 'Animal Lover' Aspiration!
Since the Pets expansion packs is going to be out any time soon now so why not? - I wish there was a 'Animal Lover' Aspiration!

Yes, that's a good bet that EA will add Animal Lover to either/or the Aspirations or to the Traits. They did it before (it was TS3, I think)!1 - I think we desperately need more aspirations and traits! As some have said, and I've said before, there should be at least 1 new trait and 1 new aspiration with each pack. It can't be too hard, especially aspirations that's just text and check boxes.
So many missed opportunities already. A wellness aspiration with spa day, a own the best restaurant aspiration, a movie buff aspiration (and loves/hates movie trait) maybe even a loves outdoors with backyard stuff (using the water slide and bird feeder)
Itd almost 'force' players to use certain items from packs you may not normally use, and make sims more different from eachother. - I think we desperately need more aspirations and traits! @surraaaaaa I agree with you for the most part. While I'm not sure if every SP needs an aspiration, I think every GP and EP should have new aspirations. As for traits, I think this is more reasonable for SPs, and should also be in GPs and EPs when they fit in. You are 1000% correct in saying that Spa Day & Dining Out missed golden opportunities for adding aspirations. I've heard of some Mods that addressed this issue (a Wellness aspiration to be exact), but I don't play with Mods. And I love you idea of a Movie Buff aspiration/traits (This is an example of a SP that would have a good aspiration). But the I'm not convinced there needs to be an aspiration with the Backyards SP since we already have an Outdoors Aspiration and trait. I realize you were speaking more specifically about the bird feeder and water slide, but the bird feeder is just a single item. Now, if with the Cats & Dogs EP they added a boost in mood to Animal Lovers who use the birdfeeder, that would make more sense since this trait would tie in with more than one item! The waterslide trait would have to tie in with swimming and hot tub use to make it worth while. If only they would incorporate existing items for trait and aspiration opportunities with newly released EPs, GPs, and SPs, I think more people would be satisfied.0 - There should be more traits and trait slots too, in my opinion.

Oh cool! I didn't install Sims 3 before and thats kind of suprising! :o - @Kay8Orange said:There should be more traits and trait slots too, in my opinion.
Yeup! - I agree with this. We need more especially for children, how come that in 3 years(4 years tomorrow) children didn't get even a single new aspiration?
Aspirations goals shouldn't just focus on the task that was in the aspiration tab. The Whims and aspirations should work together with more depth that can engage players in an interesting way. If they can add depth in both whims and aspirations then the aspirations system will be much more enjoyable.Ways on how to improve The Sims 4
http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/924539/features-that-needs-depth-and-ways-to-improve
This is a list of all the in The Sims 4 by type in alphabetical order. Please click the respective links in each entry for more details.
Creation traits are only applied during Create A Sim and are permanent even if the Sim eventually changes aspirations. This means a Sim can have only one of these traits, and that trait is selected only at Create a Sim time. If there's a trait that seems really good for your Sim but the aspiration doesn't match, consider taking it anyway and then switch the aspiration once you start the main game.
Alluring[edit]
Alluring is applied with any of the Love Aspirations. Alluring Sims increase the chance of success from any Romantic-type social interaction. Note that this could be a double-edged sword; a Sim with the Alluring trait can easily be a homewrecker as well! Sims with this trait tend to attempt Romantic-type social interactions more often.
Animal Affection[edit]
Animal Affection gives the Sim a better-than-average boost to relationship scores when meeting a new animal. Although it doesn't directly impact the relationship gain rate, Sims with this trait seem to have a better chance at succeeding with their social interactions too.
Business Savvy[edit]
Business Savvy is applied with any of the Fortune Aspirations. Business Savvy increases the amount of Simoleons the Sim earns from a conventional job. It does not affect the amount of money earned from creative works. Business Savvy does not seem to affect their behavior.
Collector[edit]
Collector is applied with any of the Nature Aspirations. Collector provides an automatic boost to the rarity of any found object in the world, including fish, gems, and seeds. This trait does not appear to affect a Sim's behavior.
Dastardly[edit]
Dastardly is applied with any of the Deviance Aspirations. Dastardly allows the Sim to perform more powerful negative ('Mischief' and 'Mean' type) social interactions and increases the chance of all negative interactions succeeding. Sims with this trait will attempt negative social interactions more often.
Domestic[edit]
Domestic is applied with any of the Family Aspirations. Domestic significantly increases the rate at which this Sim gains relationship levels with other related Sims, including spouses. Sims with this trait tend to socially interact with their family members more than others.
Essence of Flavor[edit]
Essence of Flavor is applied with any of the Food Aspirations. Essence of Flavor automatically increases the quality of any meals or drinks this Sim prepares. Sims with this trait tend to seek out mixology bars, but they do not seem to automatically cook with any increased frequency compared to Sims without the trait.
Gregarious[edit]
Gregarious is applied with any of the Popularity Traits. This increases the speed of relationship gains with any successful social interaction regardless of the target's personality. Sims with this trait tend to be a bit outgoing and want to socially interact with others more often.
High Metabolism[edit]
High Metabolism is applied with any of the Athletic Aspirations. High Metabolism slows the rate of the Sim's body getting fat and increases the rate at which the Sim gains muscle from working out. Sims with this trait will seek to work out more than other Sims, especially when paired with the Active Trait.
Home Turf[edit]
Home Turf is applied with any of the Location Aspirations. Home Turf applies a buff to increase the Sim's happiness whenever they are in their home neighborhood. Note that they don't need to be in their house; for example, if their house is in Willow Springs, they will gain the buff even if they're at a park or gym that is also in Willow Springs. Home Turf does not seem to change their behavior, but it's still applied even if the Sim is not the current active Sim, so if you know a Sim has this trait they will be in a better mood for social outings if they stick to their neighborhoods.
Muser[edit]
Muser is applied with any of the Creativity Aspirations. Muser occasionally triggers while the Sim is influenced by the Inspired Emotion and grants an additional bonus to the quality of the Sim's creative work and the rate of their Skill gain. Sims with this trait tend to seek out artistic actions, especially when they're alone.
Quick Learner[edit]
Quick Learner is applied with any of the Knowledge Aspirations. Quick Learner automatically applies a small boost to the gain rate of allSkills. This trait does not appear to change a Sim's behavior.
Reward traits are applied when the Sim attains Level 4 in the noted Aspiration. None of these traits will affect the Sim's behavior, but they're all incredibly powerful and have no downsides to the Sim who possesses them.

Expressionistic is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration. Sims with Painter Extraordinaire can create paintings of any Emotion regardless of whether they're currently feeling that emotion.

Handy is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Nerd Brain aspiration. Sims with this trait can instantly repair or upgrade any object. They still need the parts if they want to upgrade objects, but such repairs or upgrades will happen instantly.

Piper[edit]
Piper is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Musical Genius aspiration. Piper unlocks songs that can otherwise not be played that can significantly affect other Sims who are listening.
Player[edit]
Player is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Serial Romantic aspiration. Sims with this trait will never cause another Sim to get jealous of their actions, such as using a Romantic-type interaction on a different Sim in front of their spouse. Note that Sims with the Player trait can themselves still feel jealousy (unless the Sim who would make them jealous also has the Player trait).
Poetic[edit]
Poetic is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Bestselling Author aspiration. Poetic Sims gain the ability to write the Book of Life, an object that can bring Sim Ghosts back to life.
Potion Master[edit]
Potion Master is obtained upon reaching Level 4 of the Master Mixologist aspiration. Sims with this trait unlock special recipes when mixing drinks which can influence the drinker's Emotions.
